Epoxy typically becomes dry to touch within 24 hours but requires 72 hours for full curing depending on temperature and humidity. For commercial and industrial spaces, we typically recommend 24-48 hours of restricted access for foot traffic areas, with full operational use after 72 hours. We'll provide a specific timeline based on your project scope and environmental conditions!
All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of contamination including dust, oil, moisture, sap, lint, and sanding debris. For porous surfaces like unsealed concrete, additional preparation and potentially a second layer may be necessary as these surfaces absorb the product easily. Proper surface preparation is crucial for adhesion, which includes grinding or shot-blasting existing floors to create the ideal profile.
Epoxy bonds well to most common surfaces including concrete, wood, metals, glass, and ceramic. When working on porous surfaces, a second layer may be necessary as the surface can absorb the product easily. Proper surface preparation is crucial! We'll make sure surfaces are clean, dry, and free of contaminants like dust, oil, moisture, or sanding debris. You won't need a new floor, just a quick retouching in some cases.
Cured epoxy will last about 7 years before needing a touch-up! Epoxy provides excellent impact-resistance once cured and offers water and chemical resistance. For industrial settings, specialty formulations provide even more durability for structural applications
Epoxy resin generally isn't UV protected and can experience discoloration in direct sunlight, but some specialized resins contain UV inhibitors that prevent yellowing under sun exposure. For outdoor commercial spaces, we either use UV-resistant formulations or recommend alternative solutions like polyurethane topcoats for UV protection.
Professional epoxy installations require minimal maintenance. The surface cures to a hard, crystal-clear finish that's easy to clean. For commercial floors, epoxy provides additional traction with aggregate and excellent chemical resistance. After the typical 7-year lifespan, maintenance involves simply sanding the surface and applying a new coat to restore the original appearance. We provide specific maintenance guidelines based on your facility's usage patterns and traffic levels.

Quality epoxy resins conform to ASTM D-4236, indicating they've been evaluated as non-toxic and safe for indoor use when applied as directed. However, we ensure proper ventilation during installation and recommend minimal staff presence during the curing process
